Rain, glorious rain.

We’ve gone over a month with absolutely no measurable rain at all.  It’s been so dry that if a cloud did decide to bless us with some precipitation, it evaporated long before hitting the ground.

That’s why I was so happy to hear the sound of traffic on a wet road when I got up and made my morning cup of coffee.  It’s not pouring out there, but so far it’s a reasonably good rain, for Utah.

Hopefully it will last long enough, and dump enough water, to help relieve some of the firefighters that have been working around the clock on the 200,000 acres of land that were burning  yesterday.

Hopefully it is widespread enough that a good portion of these men and women get a chance to go home, see their families and just relax for a couple of days.

Hopefully.

I know. I am SO happy for the wet, cool day.
Even if it doesn't help the fires much, at least the soaked ground will be less likely to catch fire for new fires. That's a good thing. :)

Yeah, and it's still raining. Great news!

Hopefully! I'm praying for more rain for you all!

Thanks Karen, and hopefully it won't be another 38 days before it rains again.

I can't believe how strange our weather has become. Not at all like our childhood days. It seems it's always such extremes around here. Not just a fun rain, but down pours that flood, winds that drive trees through cars and houses. (That hit here, and moved across the country) our grounds were so soft from heavy rains that many trees came up roots and all...it's been a wild ride so far. I'm hoping you all get a welcoming rain....and no storms!

Sorry to hear about the weather related problems in your neck of the woods. I know what you mean about the weather extremes, last year it seemed it rained all summer long. This year - practically nothing.
