Autumn in Duchesne

It’s definitely autumn here in Utah, for a second or two at least.  We have a winter storm warning for the mountains this Thursday, but I took these pictures last weekend, when it was still quite warm.

What says autumn more than a nice, toasty warm campfire?

And the spray of boiling water and ash as we put it out.

Enjoy the warmth while we can.

I'm having a hard time picking a favorite. The campfire picture makes me want to touch the wood - I know, dangerous - while the last one reminds me of the first ever series I took the first weekend I had my camera. I'd like to touch those, too.

I like your view of the season. You always find new ways to see things.

I love the campfire picture too - you can almost feel the heat! But the light in the first shot, through the gold leaves, is lovely, and the final one is fantastic, with its luminous leaves/buds (?)

Yes indeed, enjoy the last warmth of the season.

I've no favourite , I like them all. If it weren't for the regular shaped bricks the dousing of the fire could be a volcanic vent.

Max, you didn't bank those coals! Oh gee I guess you had to head back home! I think I could actually feel that fire...and taste the marshmallows that would be a must have with a campfire! Lovely welcome to autumn, although the winter-storm warning even in the mountains is not a happy thought! Great post Max!

The pictures make me want to go camping! Fire, cool air outside and cozy sleeping bag inside. Nice capture of the ashes and fire going out.

These are all so fabulous.

You need to drop over to my blog again and read Carmi's comment about your front door.

I love that fire! I can feel the heat from it! Great pictures - I especially like the way the grey tree trunks wind through the pics.
