I used to have two funny ones that I actually used. One said, "Hi. I'm mat." The other said, "Your knock is very important to us. Please remain on the mat and your knock will be answered in the order it was received." Unfortunately, they were both very cheap mats and wore out more than 15 years ago.
I love the dog mat, and actually almost bought one...the first one if my mother would have ever seen it at a door she would have turned around and left.....even if it were at my house (no questions asked!)...of course Max I wouldn't use that one...but these do make you laugh and I enjoy seeing them around....could you imagine a job just sitting around thinking these things up....!
ET - "Hi, I',m mat." Love that one! Karen - Yeah, I'd never use that first one myself, but I still found it funny. Though, I could see myself putting out that last one.
This very funny post had me thinking up other door-mat ideas... none of which are as good as "Hi, I'm mat."
There's a great sign on the gate of a pensioner's cottage along the road from me, but it insults a number of different community groups, and out of deference to where you and ET live, I won't post it :)
Nope, nope and nope; I ain't gonna post it. It really is quite nasty - I really don't know why somebody hasn't ripped it down or reported it to the council or something. And I'm not going to give the old guy the pleasure of seeing me take a photo of it.
Shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place - sorry.
That bad, eh? Guess I'll just have to defer to your judgement. Tho' I completely understand the not wanting to take a picture of it. People like that almost always see it as a sign of validation, rather than assuming they're taking the picture because you're totally dumbfounded that someone could be that ______________(insensitive, arrogant, irrational, immature, uneducated, hateful. Pick one).

Alexia - Ok, now you've got me curious. If you let me in on it, I promise I won't get offended, or post it.
Yeah, me too. I wanna know!
