My World

The site that I found to log the states I’ve visited also has the same function for the entire world, and I went ahead and made my own map for that: Abysmal 5.33%.  Even worse was when I clicked on a friend’s blog and saw her map of the U.S.  Alexia has been to 46% of the states here.  Now, less than half the country may not be that great, until you consider she lives in New Zealand.  A lot more impressive than making it to 80% of a country where I never have to get off terra firma to do it.

But I looked at my map of the world and realized, although I’ve made it “across the pond” as the British say, I have yet to log a single spot below the equator.  So I think I need to officially add to my goals.  After I make it to 100% of the continental U.S., I’m going to have to make it below the equator.  Maybe Alaska first, but Hawaii is going to wait.  If I’m going to go airborne, I might as well make it across the equator.

I've been to 25 states, 22 countries, and 2 territories, but I have not yet been south of the equator either.
I want to see New Zealand, Australia, Easter Island (not likely, but it's still on my list), and Peru. Do any of those match your bucket list? Maybe we should travel together sometime. :)

South America doesn't draw me the way Australia and New Zealand do. Easter Island too. But they're a few years off, I have student loans and a few other bills that have be paid off before I'll be spending that kind of money on travel.

Well then, it looks like we need a trip to Logan together, or Heber, or one of those sites in Utah Curiousities. :)

Sounds like a plan. I still want to go out searching for old, abandoned buildings throughout the area.

I like that. Let's do something over spring break.

Sounds like a plan, Stan. (Hey, Writer just doesn't rhyme with plan, ok?)

Hop on the bus, Gus.
Make a new plan, Stan.
There must be 50 ways to leave your lover.....

Thank you, Paul Simon.

In 10th grade a friend and I made up our own lyrics to that song. All I'll say here is that it wasn't "50 ways to leave your lover."

I can just be it wasn't.....
Ah, but you'd lose all the alliteration if you change "leave" to the four-letter word that comes to mind here.....

True, but there are other words you can use that mean the same thing. I think we used a 3 letter word that started with L.
(I feel like I'm working on a crossword puzzle)
