Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

I worked both those days at the Chevron.  We weren’t any busier than usual, but that didn’t stop these huge shopping days from effecting us.

When everybody and their mother-in-law’s second cousin are using their credit cards at the same time, it sure slows things down.  Do you know how long 45 seconds seems when you have a customer standing there watching you watch the cash register and all it’s saying is “PLEASE WAIT”?  A long time.

I know that in an academic game the five seconds that may elapse between the buzz and the player's answering of the question can seem an eternity.

I hear that. And to top it off it's always on days when they're all in a hurry to get nowhere (in the middle of that mess) and get ANGRY that you're so slow ... never realizing that it's the machines.

I better hush before I grinch out. I hate the commercialization of Christmas. I like a homemade holiday best.

I do! it's so cool when stores put silly things on display to occupy those long please wait moments...a gas station I often use has a fish tank (really real live fish) and it always captivates attention! except I hate it when our coffee shop posts a trivia question and some selfish person blurts out the answer! Grrrrrrrrrrr!
