Goodbye Gata, sleep tight.

She passed away sometime last night.

Thank you all for your thoughts.

It's nice that she was comfortable with you at home when she passed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Gata. You did the right thing. Her last few days were better spent at home rather than in an unfamiliar place. You are a good dad.

I'm so sorry for your loss Max, but thankful that she got to go in her sleep, peacefully and at home.

Hugs,
Sally

I'm glad it was the natural way and that she's through with her pain now.

Thank you all for your comforting words, and Sally for your virtual hug. Even that last night before I went to bed I was holding her and petting her and she was purring like a little kitten.
It's weird, I haven't been really down today, but when I got home from work tonight, the house seems so empty.
Thanks again everyone.

A late hug from downunder ...

I'm so glad you had that last purry time together.

Man, I'm even getting well wishes from the southern hemisphere. Thanks. And just for the record, it's never too late for a hug!

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss, Max. I remember losing our cat, Shadow, about 5 years ago, and it was a hard lesson in loss and memory.

Please know she had the life that she had - comfortable, loved, cared for - because of you. May her memory always be a blessing to you and your family, and may you know no further sorrow.

Carmi - thanks.
I wonder how long I'm going to be pulling into the driveway and looking to make sure she's not in my way.

I'm so sorry, Rossi.

Probably for a very long time. It's been over five years and I still look for him around corners, still feel him skulking around the edges of the room.

They sure do have a way of imprinting themselves on our souls, don't they?

Funaki, good to hear from you again! And thanks.
Carmi, they sure do.
