Photos from a smartphone.

That’s the theme this week for

and I’m going to cheat on this one.

See, I don’t own a smartphone.  But my phone does take pictures, so at least I’m being faithful to that part.

I took these pictures one morning when walking home from dropping one of my cars off for repairs.  I had dropped by the local Deseret Industries (Utah thrift store) and saw this cool old Pontiac Tempest in the parking lot.  Had to take some pictures of it, and I’d left my camera at home.

It’s a ‘61, ‘62 or ‘63, if the pictures I looked up on Google are right.

Back in the 60’s, it was just a family economy car.  Your basic, boring 4-door.  But, older than most of the people reading this blog, it’s kind of cool, and it caught my eye.

It looks a lot like a Ford Falcon to me, but then, I'm not a car person, so I could be dead wrong.

Nah, it's a Pontiac Tempest. But it was General Motor's competitor to Ford's Falcon.

Max, they are all great photos from your cell, and it must be a pretty nice camera too! You aren't cheating either, Carmi said any mobile device!

Handy to have a smart phone when you happen upon something cool like this.

Good choice, Max!

Thanks folks. Old cars always catch my eye, The styling of cars today just can't compare.

These would be fine pictures of an old car with any form of camera.
I often see things I would like to photograph when I don't have my camera with me - one of the penalties of being 'smartless' I suppose.

Yeah, that has happened to me way too many times, which is why I try to always have some kind of camera on me.

You're not cheating at all: I probably should have been more clear in the initial entry: smartphones or any other mobile device - including phones or whatever else you've got on ya.

I love this series. There's something timeless about an old car. I love the way it instantly transports you back in time. It's especially poignant in this case because the brand itself has vanished. So this is all we have left. And what a wonderful car it is...clearly well cared for!
