Thematic Photographic: Weather Transitions

I love watching the weather come across the valley.  I remember one time, as a teenager, watching a low flying storm gobble up the city as it moved east towards our house on the bench.  I was new at taking pictures, so none of them came out and I don’t even know where they are now.
So, I offer these more recent pictures of the weather transitioning across the Salt Lake valley.  Sometimes you can literally see the front moving in. If you want to see more Transition pictures, and hopefully join in with the fun, click on the Thematic Photographic banner below.

Oh Max awesome transition photos! The first and last are my favorites, I so long for the rich velvet lined grasses which crosses the valley scattered with evergreens and trees with leaves! Oh yes! (except for the mowing part!) and the last photo reminds me of the rich glow before a storm is ready to touch down! Nice work!

Very nice. You do so well with sky photos. Did you get any of the supermoon last night?
I was up to get a drink at 5:00 AM and that moon was so freakin' bright. I actually thought that if I were you I'd be able to get a decent photo of the thing, but alas! I have neither your skills nor your quality of camera, so I got no photos.

Wow awesome shots! I love the first two - and the third one looks like what used to be called a "nor'west arch" where I grew up.

I like the first two pictures in particular. You have really caught the weather change in the first.

I could just step right into the photo on that first shot- it's so inviting (inspite of or because of the storm- I'm not sure which).

I like the first photo the best. It's dramatic! It makes me want to take cover so I don't get caught in the storm.
