The problem with new windows....

...is that when they get dirty cleaning them actually helps. Old double-paned windows with broken seals don't look any better when you don't clean them, which gives you a good excuse for not bothering. My new ones, none of the crap is between the pieces of glass, so I just KNOW they would look a lot better if I cleaned them. Yeah, it was great having an excuse. But now that I spent the entire day cleaning the house, [2 loads of dishes - 4 loads of laundry - a full recycling bin of papers that were laying around], I'm just going to have to fix it so the dirty windows don't stick out like a sore thumb. Which means cleaning them. Bleah!

Oh, I SO hear you on this.
I decided to have the inside of the house painted this summer, but as I was getting bids and choosing colors, I realized I really ought to replace the horrible linoleum in my kitchen first, so now I can't schedule the painter until the new floor is in. Then, just this morning, I realized that I really should replace the blinds in the living room since three of them are non-functional now and why drill holes for shabby old blinds with new paint?
You just keep finding more and more work to do, but I keep finding more and more I have to pay for. (Good thing I planned on and saved up for major house repairs this summer...)

Oh, and one of these days, would you be willing to come over and hold a ladder for me? I need to climb up and clear out a clogged raingutter and I'm too dang chicken to do it without somebody to hold the ladder. I'd ask Dad, but then he'd insist on going up on the roof himself, and I just don't think he should be doing that at 85.

I don't blame you there, I built that whole porch onto the back of my house so I could get to my swamp cooler without having someone there to call 911 if I fell off the roof.
Maybe tomorrow or Friday, I'll call you when I get up and I can bring your keys back at the same time, eh?
