Summertime? Not quite yet.

For most of the teachers in Granite School District, summer started Friday right after school. Not so much for me. I had to get up early yesterday (Saturday) to return the stage and tablecloths we rented for graduation. I've done it every year for the last 3 years, so no big deal. But it still goes on. monday and Tuesday I'll be in meetings all morning with the Math teachers from the high school, junior highs and elementary schools that feed into that high school. It's called Vertical Teaming, I think I mentioned it in a previous post. The whole idea is for us to get togther and work on providing a cohesive learning experience for our students from elementary through high school. We did it when I was at my school out in Magna, and I found it to be very useful.
Anyway, even though I am all for it, it does mean that my week of doing nothing but watching CSI DVDs won't start until Wednesday.

Isn't that illegal? It strikes Your Conscience as being deeply anti-family... Your Conscience is deeply offended...

Wanna read my end-of-school story? Wanna see my voodoo doll?
C'mon over to my blog, honey....
(Okay, so the school didn't close, but you know we did have someone die, so that kind of evens us out, doesn't it?)

A delay should just make your summer (free) time that much more enjoyable.

"Vertical Teaming" sounds like an interesting idea.

Y.C. - actually it IS a communist plot to overthrow the American way of life, comrade.
.
Writer - you know I always read your school stuff. The literary stuff gets overlooked, but never the school stuff.
.
Jannx - when done right, it actually is pretty productive. We first had to spend some time getting to know each other, so that we would be comfortable giving constructive critisism. You can't jump straight into "this is the way you should be teaching it". But I am actually looking forward to meeting the people I'm going to be working with for the next few years.

Writer - I should have said the literary stuff gets overlooked sometimes. I do read some of them you know.
