Grounded for life.

I saw this lamp post on my walk around the park a had to add it to this week’s theme.

Oops! I started humming "The 59th Street Bridge Song" but there are no flowers hanging on that lamp post.

There's a grounded bird outside my window right now. Despite the lack of clean & shiny around here, birds continue to fly into our windows full-force. It'll be back to flying within the hour, but for now it is down for the count.

That's odd. I saw a similar one on a corner a few blocks up the street as I ran errands today.

Karen - I love that song. When I was in high school, our house had 6' windows in the living room. One summer a bird, we think the same one, would come by a few times a week and spend a half hour flying into the windows trying to get in. After hitting the window it would perch on the balcony railing for a few minutes, get it's head back together and then try for another window.

Lisa - Hmm, must be some kind of epidemic.

Termites?

That lamppost certainly ended up grounded. Nice when a perfect shot falls at your feet.

Those would have to be some BIG termites, unless they got a little help from the wind or a vehicle.

Could have been an IED connected to the electrics.

Maybe carpenter ants or bees weakened it, and then the wind finished it off?

at least it seems to have grounded itself AWAY from the street and cars...
