Roommate?

The room’s all ready and I’m just waiting.  And nothing’s happening.

Every time I’ve had a roommate they’ve just fallen into my lap, figuratively speaking.  Family, friend or someone I’ve worked with.  The least connected of all my roommates was a friend of a trusted friend.  So far, every time it has worked out great, never regretted having them here and, for the most part, enjoyed the company.

So, since I’m not getting behind on the bills, but just want the income to pay off some debts, I’ve been just hoping.  And hoping.

I don’t really like the idea of taking out an ad, interviewing people and trying to decide who I can trust and who I can live with, but I really want to pay off some debts.

So, I’m mulling over placing an ad.  I’d appreciate any good advice anyone out there has with finding a roommate.  I’m still not sure I want to share my house with a stranger, but I am at least considering it.

You never know, perhaps some friend of a friend may pop up again...with this gentle urge of your post. My grandmother once wanted to take in some extra income from renting out a room, but she too was not sure about giving up all her freedom of living alone...then somehow a person through her church fixed her up with "airline pilots" they made good money, usually ate out, and they had alternating schedules so it worked out well for all!

Chris - email me and we'll talk. My Email
.
Karen - It might have already worked.

You know, I was going to suggest Chris, but then I thought that maybe you wouldn't want to room with a former student.
Looks like you two will work it out without my interference. :)

Lisa - I thought the same thing, but then I realized it wouldn't be any more weird than sharing my house with a total stranger. And at least I know him and, if memory serves correctly, I know I can trust him. [And the fact that you even thought of suggesting Chris confirms that memory.]

I hope you two can work it out then. :)

I'm shocked that I became a topic of discussion.

I was haaaaalf joking. But considering how renters never seem to answer phones or return calls, I may have to look into a roommate situation...

Well Chris, if you decide to consider it, let me know. And sorry you became the topic of discussion, but keep in mind since only about 6 people regularly visit the blog, not too many people know. (Basically you, me and Lisa).
