I was checking out the new Blog of Note list and came across written inc. On the second post, when I got there, was a couple of pictures of a Hummer. Not the real one, one of those Chevy faux things. The first sentence of that post was “I'll come right out and admit it: I'm a bit of a car freak,”. My interest is piqued. Then he goes on to slam the faux-Hummer culture, finishing the post with his photographic assignment for the week. Hook, line & sinker.
So, here’s my homework. Actually, it’s times like this that I’m convinced there is some power helping choreograph my life, because I took this yesterday (before I saw the assignment) and was looking for a way to prominently present it. I couldn’t decided if I liked it better right side up or upside down. I’ll let my readers decide.

I'm not sure what it all has to do with hummers and the discussion we had yesterday, but.... I took almost the same pic yesterday, too. It was a perfect reflection. :)
You'd have to go check out the post:

to see what the Hummer broughahah is all about. Just don't enter your identical picture, I couldn't stand the competition. :)
Okay, I went over and I made a post for the contest. But I don't understand the point of the contest if there's no judging, no recognition, no choosing of a winner, etc. It seems like it's just "post a comment if you've taken a pretty picture.) Okay, I guess, but it'd be a lot cooler if he had voting or posted his favorites each time.
Anyway, thanks for clueing me in, even though I still cannot see any connection between the hummer and the contest, which "reflects" on the guy's writing skills, I think.
Bottom shot. I'm not sure why, but it's the one I could see in my mind's eye if I were standing on the bank looking out. Either way, I love how you've composed and exposed this: Not an easy scenario to pull off.
I'll admit I went on a bit of a rantfest with the Hummer thing. But as a journalist, prompting reactions among readers is what I was meant to do. I don't necessarily want everyone to agree with me - that would be boring, actually. But if I've reached them enough to think, then I'll have done my job.
I'm glad you dropped by. I'm glad you shared this as part of our latest Thematic Photographic. And I look forward to mutually sharing more, as your work is phenomenal.
Your landscape shot is SO different from where I live, it really caught my eye. Nice.
Carmi - bottom shot is right. I'm glad you like my photo, I'm sure that you'll see more of them on your challenges. Phenomenal? Thanks!
As for Hummerfest 2010, you'll notice I went off a little bit too. But hey, I get a little passionate when it comes to cars :)
Peg Cherre - Glad you liked the photo too. Hopefully I'll get to add a lot more scenery from here, so you can get a real glimpse of the area.
Writer - I think he explained it well on your blog. I kind of like the non-competitive, just get to see what other people have, kind of thing.
