Ka & boom

Ask any of my siblings,  I can sleep through most anything.  I have often had someone ask me the day after a huge storm “Wasn’t that one loud storm?” and all I could say was “What storm?”  Not so much for last night.

The night before the first day back at school I always find myself having a hard time falling asleep.  Last night was the same, I finally dozed off sometime around 11:00.  Just past midnight I was literally jolted out of bed by a thunderclap so close and so loud it shook my house.  And then the power went out.

It was windy and cool enough that not having the cooler on was not a problem, but I did have to get up early in the morning with no working alarm clock.

I found my camping light, got my cell phone and set the alarms on it to wake me up in the morning.  But not being used to that alarm, I was a little anxious about it.  I finally fell asleep sometime around 2:00.

At 4:30 this morning I am jolted awake again, by the power coming back on.  Between the lights I had inadvertently left on during the blackout and the kicking on of the swamp cooler, I again was awake.  And I couldn’t get back to sleep.

So now it’s just past 6:00, I’m already on my second cup of coffee and looking forward to a day of faculty meetings on just around 3 hours of sleep.

Yipeeeee!

Thanks, yeah we've probably all been there once in a while. Not a lot of fun, but I survived it. And so far the year is going great, I think I'm going to really like my new school.

Just in case you plan on taking in another car show, there is one at 3051 s 2900 east on thursday, August 25 from 6-8. it's kind of cool because it's a neighboorhood car show, so you'll have some very cool classic cars and some dude's 1986 Hyndai Excel sitting right next to them.

Bring your cool cars and join the fun. Max, i think you should bring all of your cars and line them up - i'll volunteer to drive one of them over.

Dang! Unfortunately I work Thursday nights at the Chevron, so I won't be able to make it there. I had a car there a couple of years ago, it was a fun one.
