My first time.

I found a new photo group to add to my repertoire: Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

We get a list of 5 things to scavenge pictures of over the following week.  Here’s what I came up with for this week:

WHERE I STOOD

My friends and I spent a lot of time standing out in front of this 7-Eleven during the three years we spent at the high school.

SILVER

Ahhh, an electric coffee warmer that plugs into your car’s outlet.  Great for those long drives.

TINY

A 1/4” model I build of a house I designed back in high school.

IN THE CUPBOARD

is my set of Denny’s coffee cups.

SHADOW

Shadow of the light post over the dried pond at Sugarhouse Park.  In the winter, most of the water remains in the mountains, so the creeks and ponds tend to dry up.

Oh, I LOVE time-travel shots like the one you did with the 7-Eleven! I wish I had the photo software to do shots like that!
I have a whole collection of this type of shot on my time travel pinterest board. Your pic will be added to the collection.
Awesome!

Love your "where I stood" photo-within-a-photo. Nice! And I have to ask...did you come by all those Denny's mugs legally? ;)

Lisa - Glad you liked it and are passing it on.

Amy - well, yes and no on the mug question. I used to hang out after work at the Denny's a lot with my co-workers, so the manager knew me well. One night I jokingly told her that I was going to take a set of coffee mugs home with me and she just looked at me and said "OK". I don't know if she was serious or not, but a few weeks later I told her I was going to take one of their chairs home with me. She watched me wheel it right out the front door and I got all the way to my car without her saying anything to me. Unfortunately it wouldn't fit in the car, so I wheeled it right back in.

How fun to have the High School shot to place over the same spot today. Great memory.
Love the idea of a heated coffee mug.

That electric warmer cup seems like a great idea. I love your model of the house.

Enjoyed the back story to your Denny's mugs (and the chair...too bad it didn't fit). Then I spotted your "funny things students say" tag on your sidebar, and got lost in those for a while. LOVED IT. Welcome to SHS, and I'll be back to see what else your students have said, too.

Oh shucks I had too busy of a weekend to play along, and seeing how you blew this right out of the ball park, speaking of balls, did you happen to catch what our Minnesota Vikings were playing in away from home? Snow! With the Ravens and we lost. Anyway back to your picks you sure have a knack for playing this scavenger hunt! Hope you do again!

I think your first shot is really neat.
My husband would love that coffee warmer, curious as to where to get one of those.
And your model house is really neat too.
Had to chuckle a bit at your Denny's story here in the comments.

I love Scavenger Hunt Sunday. I have been participating for quite some time, but there are weeks I miss. I am trying to get better at stopping by to visit others, but with 4 young children it gets hard at times. Always fun to find a new blogger participating.

Hi, visiting from Scavenger Hunt Sunday! I love the 7-Eleven shot, and that electric coffee mug is a wonderful idea. I laughed at your Denny's mug backstory! Very entertaining set. :-)

Welcome to all my new visitors.

Sonshka - I'm glad I found it, it's going to be a lot of fun.

Amy - those kids can be hilarious, one of the things that keeps me teaching.

Karen - well, you're the reason I found SHS, so I hope to keep seeing you there.

kewkew - I'm sure you could find one online, but I think I got mine at the local Home Depot.

It was awesome to see all of you drop by. And to see the pictures you all came up with.
