Dang! It was one of the most awesome moonsets I've ever seen! The moon looked HUGE through the smog and whatever the curvature of the earth does to it at the horizon. Plus, it had turned a smoky orange. Then, the lake was reflecting it, and, as the moon was not quite full, it looked a bit squashed. The whole thing made it look like it was melting into a puddle. It was SO cool.
But I SAW this from the mouth of Parley's Canyon, just as I was on the ramp to I-80! I WAS on the east side! I couldn't have seen it from the west side.

Ain't we havin' some fun now?
PS. PLEASE tell me you got some photos of the moon setting (melting) into the lake this morning at about 7:00???? It was so gorgeous!
I wish I could, but I didn't even see it. The moon setting right on the lake, that would have been great. Dang!

Oh man, sounds like it would have been one hellova fantastic picture. That's what I get for working on the east side - miss all the lake shots.

So then it's because I work east of where I live. My drive heads me away from the lake instead of towards it.
