Yet one more reason I keep teaching…

In keyboarding a kid asked me if I shave my legs.  I said that I don’t but that some men do, like competition swimmers.

Me:  “They shave their legs, their arms, their chest…”

Student:  “And they’re bald”

(Say the two quotes together fast and stop before you get to the “d” on bald.)

Oh, I caught it before I read that last sentence with your "directions."
Did you class burst out into laughter?
And you know some kid went home today and told his parents that "Mr. Rossi told us that swimmers shave their balls!"

Yeah, I knew you'd get it right away. One other student and I burst out laughing immediately, it took the rest of the class a second or two. Luckily it was in the last couple of minutes of class, 'cause it took me a bit to get control of myself, let alone the whole class.

And fortunately I already told the Assistant Principal the story, so when that parent calls he can set them straight. (I didn't even think of the parent calling, I just thought he'd find it funny. He did.)
