All alone.

Thematic Photographic for this week is “The One”, some lonely, solitary thing.  I took these photos today, at school.  I did not photoshop them at all, except to crop and frame them.  Do you know what it is?

Does this one help?

If not, ask your favorite neighboring science teacher.

Answer:  It’s called a plasma ball, the science teacher has one on her desk.  The whole thing looks a lot like this:

This is a picture I got off the web – not the actual one I was photographing.

Clearly this is a photo of the very last strand of patience a teacher has being sucked out into a black hole by an 8th grader.

Yes, I literally laughed out loud. Perfect as we head into the last week before Christmas (oops, axe that) Winter Break. Lisa, hope you don't mind if I share that with my faculty. I'll use your name for credit, or not, as you wish.

Oh yes - our crazy physics teacher is very fond of playing with one of these!

Fantastic photos, Max - just stunning.
Enjoy your break! Our school year finished last Friday, and we've already had almost one of our 7-week summer vacation.

And great comment, Lisa :)

No problem. I attached my name to it here, so feel free to attach my name to it at your school, with my regards to the teachers who know me.

Someone's been channelling some Large Hadron Collider juju.

I wish my school had had a Van Der Graaf generator. I wouldn't have gotten any work done, but I would be been deliriously happy.

Long, long time since I did Physics! No, I don't know exactly what it is, but obviously light playing funny tricks!

Looks like halogen cooker plate to me. If not then we've just bought the wrong replacement for ours.

Well this just too cool....and if only my school had offered anything this cool....I see Carmi named it a Van Der Graaf generator? I'll have to google this...I had thought it was an orb from some alien ship possibly stuck in your back yard!!! Just being silly! ;)
