Here's another hint for you: don't buy corduroys.
For some people cat hair IS an accessory!
Just tell them your girlfriend is a punk rocker. I'd love to see their reaction.
Writer - It's the "getting out" that I'm unfamiliar with. Cat hair is no problem when all you're doing is putting on your jammies and going to sleep.
