Go figure.

Yesterday I woke up to an inch of snow on the cars.  Today I’ve got all the windows in the house open and the swamp cooler blowing fresh air.

Update: 12:48 – and now it’s 54 degrees outside, and hailing.

Yeah, I was just thinking you wouldn't want that cooler on for long today.
I'm certainly not up for summerizing my cooler yet. But I did open the windows for awhile at about 6:00 this morning to let some fresh air in.

I thought the hail was a harbinger of colder weather also, but it's been almost an hour, and it's still hovering at 54 out there. But that doesn't mean that at any second I'm going to have to shut the whole thing down and crank up the furnace again.

Four inches of snow this morning. Is your swamp cooler still on? ;)

I'm going out to shovel.

Yeah, left it on all night. Built a little bonfire in the corner of the bedroom to keep me warm. Nah, actually by around 3:30 it was getting cold enough that I closed up the house again and turned the furnace back on. But it was a bit shocking when I went out to get the paper and there was (is) 4" of snow on the porch. Bleah!

(P.S. - that was 3:30 in the afternoon, not in the morning)

Man, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you were talking about life in Indiana.

It's funny, because we've always had a saying in Indiana: "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute and it will change." But then as I've traveled around, I've heard the same thing everywhere! Glad we're not alone in the volatility.
