Cedar Breaks brakes.

Got the email today.  There will be no Ranger Steve this summer.  At least not this Ranger Steve.  TacoRangerSteve The letter was very polite, told about how great all the applicants were, and that unfortunately there was only one position to fill.  It went to some 5th grade teacher in the Salt Lake area, that’s all the info that was given out (guess that’s so nobody can go out and “encourage” them to remove their name from the petition, uh, I mean position).  So, not this summer for me, but the good thing about that rejection email is that I have a link to a whole bunch of other Parks that have Teacher-Ranger-Teacher positions that I can apply for next year.  I’m gonna start earlier, and apply for a bunch of them next year.  Down, but not out.

I'm sorry, but I'm glad you've got the idea now, and maybe it'll work out for next year. Let me know when you want another letter of recommendation.
And also, hey, this leaves you free for some explorations. I gotta check my little Utah book and get some ideas of where to go. Wanna go someplace?

Of course I'll be up for a few nice excursions - I have always enjoyed ours together. (Except for that one time the car broke down in that little town in Nevada, and you had to wait tables at Eat-n-Go and I had to pump gas at the We-Pump-4-U for a month.)

That's why we should stick with Utah, where the worst that's ever happened to us was getting stuck at the airport in Moab. :)

True, though getting stuck in Provo...
