Stop the insanity

I'm at the store yesterday, drove the Battlecruiser there. As I was putting my stuff in the car some guy started talking to me about the car. Turns out he has a 1970 Mercury Grand Marquis 2 door that he's selling. $1,500 bucks. No, I didn't buy it. Not that I wouldn't have if I had $1,500 in the bank, but since I had to borrow the last $500 to get the Battlecruiser, there is no way I could have (or even should have) scraped up the money for this one. So I just politely said no thanks and backed away slowly, got into my car and left. I may be an addict, but I'm not going to hock everything for a car fix.

Were you shaking afterwards? Blurred vision? Have trouble enunciating words?
Good job. Maybe you should have someone to call when you have trouble resisting the urge..

Nah, Frankie, I didn't get his number. I was afraid that if I did I'd end up at the pawn shop trying to raise the $1,500. Now, if he'd said Cougar I'd have gotten his number for ya, I just didn't know you would were thinking about anything bigger than that.

Hi, my name is Max and I'm a caraholic. It's been 27 days since I bought my last car, and I want to thank everyone for all the support they have given me. I couldn't have done it without you, and a complete lack of cash.

Very good Max, welcome to the CA 12-step meeting today. Now that you've completed Step 1 and been "purchase sober" for the past 27 days, let's look at Step 2....

Hi, I'm Steve, and I'm a caraholic. I've been purchase free for 27 days today.
On the way hopme from a South Salt Lake City meeting I saw a 4 door LTD sedan for sale. He only wanted $700 for it, said he'd take $600. I couldn't help myself, I just had to stop and check it out. It had some rust through on the back passenger wheel well, but other than that it was pretty much rust free. The interior was a little dirty, but completely intact - the upholstry, original, wasn't even ripped. The paint - well, it sucked. The vinly top was completely gone, but it had all it's chrome and ornaments, except for the trim around one of the headlights. The engine sounded, well, fantastic. Just like Old Blue. Gotta go now, gotta turn a few tricks down on State Street so I can buy the car.........(help)........
