… I’m going to start ending my 2B class like this:
… With the Dating Game goodbye kiss. ‘Cause I swear, I’m running the Schmeisenhower dating game class.
… In the last two weeks I confiscated the two notes at the end of this post. Both were different guys asking out different girls in the class. The first one is an I want to go out with you but my best friend thought you were going to ask her and I don’t want to make her mad type of conversation. The second one makes me kind of sad. She is trying real hard to say NO as nicely as possible, and he’s not getting the hint at all. I’ve eliminated any names, but go ahead and read them if you want to take a trip back to junior high.
… And if this keeps up, I’m going to start charging Matchmaker fees.

They still write notes?! Wow. That's a trip back a decade or so. Usually my kids are attempting to text each other when I pounce on them.
And look at that: the notes are written in words, not text-speak. Wow. And the girl in the first one has good grammar and spelling. (I love the boy's "would of" instead of "would've.")
Well, now, if I confiscated these in an English class, I might photocopy them and have the kids correct all the errors for an assignment. Maybe you could turn the notes over to their English teachers. This might discourage repeat offenses.
I miss you Rossi! Will you write me a note please so I can check 'Yes' or 'No'? Oh, and Miss Joan needs help with the external hard drive set up thing. When can we chat so I can hopefully explain it to her? Or, if you want some food, come on over to the in-laws!
I never really wrote notes in school. I would draw a picture and hand it to a girl.
I feel it was better to let my expectations be known up front.

jmpnmark - it's a good thing you didn't have cell phones with digital cameras back when you were in school. I can just imagine the pictures you'd text to girls to see if you could get a date.

Ok, no MacDonalds. I know of this really good place up in Holladay. It's called Miz Joan's. How's that sound. This Wednesday?
Sorry I'm busy Wednesday, I have an art class.
jmpnmark, um, is it me or Jo that you are sorry about not having dinner with?
Actually I'm sorry about not having dinner at McDonalds. I love that place!
