No surprises on this.
I'm sorry that you and several other of my friends will be job hunting for a bit. You will be fine, but art (yes, I know the art teacher; he was hired at my school the same year I was), social studies, and English are harder to place. (Or is the English teacher I know retiring soon?)
All the best to all of you in your search.

Not a surprise at all, the vote was the exact 4-3 split we had expected, right along geographic lines (west vs. east). Fortunately, since this dragged the surplus meeting past the contracted date, the district has guaranteed all of us placement, including provisional teachers. As for the English teacher you know, she was planning on going down to a 2/3 contract, and retirement may depend on whether or not she gets stuck with a full time position.

Your Conscience was unaware you taught at Granite. You Conscience simply read the newspaper article when its attention was drawn to Mike Kaly, a person Your Conscience knew in college. Great guy, and one would guess, a good teacher...

He's an excellent teacher.
