This is it.

All that's left to do is sit around the house and wait for the 10:00 news and see if my school is closed or not.  I've been to the last 2 Board Meetings, so I think I'll skip this one.  Since there's nothing more to say or do but watch the vote, I figure there's no sense in going.  Plus they are booooooring!
And because I hate posts without pictures, here is one of me close to the end of my senior year.  Can you guess where I am and what kind of car I'm standing next to?

You're in front of the 7-11 on the corner of 800 So. and 1300 East, across the street from East High School. And, to my auto-ignorant eyes, that looks like a Cadillac medallion on the car behind you. Am I close?

Oh, and I'll be at the meeting to pick up a couple of trophies, but I won't stay for the vote either. I think I can pretty well guess what it's going to be anyway.

I'll bet you're not wearing pants.

Writer - 100% on the place, close on the car. I currently own the 4 door version of the car.
Writer II - congrats on the trophies. Shoulda got all 3, but even the Academic Games are political.
jmpnmark - that's one of the reasons for avoiding the meeting, they kind of frown on people watching it in their boxers.

You are standing at the sev across from East High and that is a 1969 Ford LTD 2 door hardtop with some awesome coostom body work on the passenger door, color.. off white or yellow.

Actually, we did end up with 3 trophies -- one was for our place in nationals. The place was pretty full tonight, but I didn't see a single teacher or administrator that I knew from your school, so it looks like you weren't the only one staying away. There were a few high school kids that were probably students from your school there, though. I hope they don't die of boredom before it's over.

As for the guesses, well, I'm not great with cars, so, sorry. But the place was only obvious to me since you were in high school and I've stood in that same spot many a time myself (although not for a couple of decades...) But of course the place would be much easier for me than for most of your other readers.

Gearhead - can you be anymore specific? All your details are 100% right on - except for the color. It was copper. But since you were 11 years old at the time, and the paint was well oxidized, yellow is a damn good guess.
