Closed the shop, sold the house, bought a ticket to the west coast.

Got a call from Paperback Writer today. She needed some pictures of cars from the 70's for a project at school and for some odd reason thought I'd have a bunch on hand. I spent a grueling 30 minutes searching through my 150-odd thousand pictures (which I had just recently finished organizing) and came up with 70 pictures I thought she might be able to use. Coulda came up with lots more, but decided what I had was sufficient for her needs. Rather than send them to her by email, which would have overloaded the system, I put them on my website for easy access. I also decided I'd make them available to all you folks too. Check them out, here's the link: http://www.srossi.net/ObamaIn08/2009/seventies/index.htm.
.....I have no idea who the lady is in the picture, she was just sitting on the bus bench when I was out taking pictures for my photography class. And for something relating more to current times I've added the comic strip below.

Argh!
All these cool photos and none of them will download properly onto my iPhoto program!!! The thumbnails look fine, but then, when I enlarge them, they won't focus!
Dangit. I really wanted that stationwagon photo and the Utah Stars pic.
Oh well. At least I do have one of you in the blue LTD in front of the old gas pumps in ... wherever the heck we got that spiffy chicken sandwich outside of Eureka last spring.
sigh
thanks for finding all those for me. I love the page. I wish I could use it.

Don't give up so fast - if worse comes to worse I'll send you a cd through district mail.

Nice photos! There was one photo that seemed familar. The group photo with (I'm guessing) was you on the gate on the left side. The gate looked familar from one of your more current photos. I think it was the set of you during one of your picture taking sleepless nights.

Okay, it's all good now -- thanks to your phone call and tutoring.
I happily have lots of spiffy pics.
You rock.

No problemo Writer, glad I could help.
Jannx,
You're right, that is me sitting on the fence. It's across the street from the high school I went to, which means it is entirely possible I have a more recent picture somewhere. Most of the pictures in the group are either recent pictures of my old cars or ones I took back in high school. I took a photography class my senior year, and was lucky enough to have a darkroom right off my bedroom, so I took a lot of pictures back then.

Thanks for the clarification.

And may I add, Jannx, that Max kindly included lots of high school pics because he knows I graduated from the same school slightly after he did. That beautiful old building has been torn down now (and replaced with one that is as sterile as a hospital, but that thousands of pre-teens find familiar, as it has been the setting for all 3 High School Musical shows by Disney), so Max placed in plenty of pics showing the old building he and I both knew. We're both a touch nostalgic about that old building, I think....
