If you read my post from yesterday, you’ve already seen a couple of these pictures, along with a bunch of other ones. Since they fit the Thematic Photographic theme, “On the Water”, so well I just had to post them again.
I spent the weekend up at the family property, and on Saturday we went swimming in Starvation Reservoir. This dock was just floating out in the swimming area and one of my nephews asked why it was there. Since I grew up in Massachusetts, where you would run into a pond every time you turned around, it just seemed natural. In Utah, you do most of your swimming in pools or off of a boat, so these are rare. It took a minute to formulate an answer, but it was simple: “So you’d have somewhere to swim to”.
It was a very windy day, and this poor little boat spent 10 minutes fighting it, standing in place, until they finally gave up and headed to the shore right next to them.
Fantastic idea I’d never thought of – a trampoline on the water. No worries about falling off, but I don’t know if I’d pay $60 an hour to use it.
These guys looked like they were waging the “War on Fish”.
A more powerful boat could win against the wind, but you can tell it’s not having an easy time of it.
Garbage on the water. My brother chased it across the beach but it made it to the water before he could catch it. Fortunately, a girl in the water caught it and brought it to the shore so my brother could throw it away.
Police, on the water.
And finally, a party barge on the water. I had a friend that had one of these which we would take out on Utah Lake. It wasn’t fast, no way you could pull a water skier behind it, but it was a fun, leisurely ride on the water.

And now I wanna go swimming!
Although its winter here now, I still enjoy swimming... My last pic in my Wordless Wednesday, is a close connection to this weeks TP, so I thought I would carry it over... Mines up as well at AussiePomm - Pelican in-flight
Have a great day!!
Oh yeah! What great photos for on the water! Me too, me too!!!!
Good selection for on the water, Max. I'd object to $60 as well.
"The War on Fish"
lol!

You have conveyed the feeling of the scene so well - I can feel the wind on my face, the water spraying splashes everywhere - I'm jealous!
