Weekend in bed.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ…

Oh, hi.  Sorry I haven’t been around much the last week.  I felt like crap on Thursday, so I called in sick Friday.

Spent all day Friday in bed sleeping.  Got up a few times to put some soup into me, along with some vitamin C and fluids.

Saturday was pretty much the same, except stayed awake long enough to take a really hot bath, hoping to sweat out that cold.

Sunday was much better.  I squeezed 3 loads of laundry in between long bouts of sleeping, and even got in a short walk.

Today I made it to school.  Felt OK until about 5th period.  Came right home after school and planning on having dinner and hitting the sack again.  What an exciting weekend.

T-3, and counting.

3 days until Parent/Teacher conferences, and I come down with a cold.  Bleah!

Here’s to spending the weekend in bed so I can be as close to 100% as possible for next week.

Havin' my baby, what a lovely way of takin' the day off...

I woke up Wednesday morning all stuffed up, achey and feeling like crap. So I called up the automated subfinder system for my district and arranged a substitute for the day. That means I got to crawl right back into bed and sleep the day away? Uh, no. That means I had to head down to the school and prepare lessons for the substitute. I was in my room getting something together when a student walked in, looked at me and said "Man, Mr. Rossi, looks like you just had a baby." Yeah, any doubt about whether or not I should be taking the day off evaporated at that comment.

Woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand. Who's wine, what wine, where the hell did I dine?

Ok, so the song doesn't really fit, I didn't consume huge amounts of alcohol last night, although I will admit to the 2 beers I had. I also don't have any of the other symptoms that are generally associated with over drinking. What I did wake up with is an unhappy gastro-intestinal tract. Been laying in bed all morning feeling just shy of having to run to the bathroom. And that's the worst place to be. If you just get it over with, the body feels better and you can start to recuperate. Or you can just get over it. But laying, completely uncomfortable because every time you move your stomach goes into spasms, well, even 3rd Rock from the Sun can't make that fun. This is why I never use any of my sick days - I always get sick in the summer, or over Christmas break. I wonder if they'll accept "I taking a sick day to make up for the day I was sick in July and couldn't use a sick day"?
I think I'll go lay down some more....

Traveling with a 3 year old

<---Dylan, feelin' not so good.
.
Saturday Danny and I headed up to the land, Josh was staying with his Nana, but Dylan was coming along for the ride. We made it to Heber, had lunch at the local Wendy's (we got the last 2 Frescata rolls of the lunch rush), picked up diapers and wipes at the local grocery store (Danny remembered everything, except diapers and wipes). About 3/4 of the way up Daniels Canyon, Dylan starts complaining about his stomach. Not feeling so good. When we get to the summit Danny suggests that, for my benefit as much as Dylans (we're in my car), I might want to pull over. We pull over, get Dylan out of the car,he sits down on the ground and withing minutes proceeds to barf all over himself. Leaves a nice puddle of semi-digested chocolate milk in the middle of the road (it's a side dirt road, we didn't let him puke in the middle of US 40!) After that he starts to feel a little bit better, but we're starting to consider just calling it a day and heading home. We decided to head over to Strawberry Reservoir so we could rinse off his clothes, we really didn't want to be smelling them all the way home. As soon as we get moving again Dylan's stomach starts bugging him again, but we make it the 3 miles or so safe and sound. We pull down to the shore of Strawberry and hang out there for a while - cleaning off the clothes and getting pictures of crawdads in the lake, the mountains and other sights around there. Dylan, as you can see by the picture, is feeling a lot better by now. As we're thinking about heading up to the land again, we notice it's already almost 3:00, and Danny promised Nana he would be back by 5:00 to pick up Josh. Hmmm, decisions, decisions, decisions. Take our time here at Strawberry, enjoy ourselves and relax a bit, or rush up to the land with just enough time to say "Hi Land" and turn around and come home. Hard choice. Strawberry was fun.

Oh, and sorry honey, you're just going to have to wait for the picture of me in the tub with just my hat and boots on........
