Jalapeno in an open wound, OUCH!

It may take me a little longer to get the last two chapters of my trip documented here, right now typing is a little cumbersome. While I was cutting up some peppers for my home made black bean soup, I lobbed of a chunk of my index finger. No, it was not just a cut, I actually a chunk of finger tip. You know, the part of the finger that has a gazillion nerve endings per square inch. Nothing like hot pepper juice in an open wound to make you swear. Not having an index finger has considerably slowed down my typing, and increased my errors, so I may have to wait for a little more healing before I continue the saga. Good thing is this will give me the time to assemble the photos for the photo gallery. All point & click, very little typing.....

Ow.
And a little chunk of extra protein in the soup.
Self-canibalism -- tasty.

Hey, wanna come over for a bowl of soup? I've got nine more fingers to add to the pot......

Uh, maybe you should freeze it for Halloween.

Ok, but only if you promise to try some then....

Honey, for you anything....

(Have fun with that comment.;) )

Actually, I can think of a WHOLE lot of other things to say about your invitation, but a) not one of them is blog appropriate and b) they're never as funny in writing as they are when spoken.
So, I'll just let you use your imagination to figure out what I would have TOLD you if I'd been there in person, okay?
that ought to keep you busy awhile.

Soup. I meant try some soup. You can see where my mind went, and a few other places. Maybe not all the same as yours, but I'll bet there are some commonalities....

Are we ever gonna do the VCR thing and watch Better Off Dead? I could use a few laughs.

silence = no
Right. I got it.
It's okay. I can handle rejection. I get it from agents all the time.

Man, you'd make Ida, my Jewish grandmother proud. Silence does not always = no, but double silence would have. Sometimes silence = "dealing with cut fingers and posts for the last week and then getting sidetracked by some shiney thing and spacing it." Next week sometime would work for me, I have class on Tue and Thu nights, probably going to have to do a study group on Wed, but other than that I don't have plans, and we could watch it here if you wanted to, I still have a VCR. Let me know.....

Yea for Grandma Ida!
I'll call you when I get back from Cedar City -- unless, of course, you're off finding spiffy new cars in Michigan -- in which case I'll be a good thing a video is a cheap form of entertainment because you won't be doing much else after paying for another car.
(Once again, I am so very glad that my own personal obsessions -- books and chocolate -- are generally easier to pay for.)

well, have a great trip and call me when you get back....

I'll do that.
Save me some soup. :)
