I have a friend who's part-owner of Utah Barricade. I like to think positive and remind myself that all those orange barrels mean that Cheryl's business is going well. :)
I've learnt something new - I just assumed that everywhere had cones. Barrels?? Do students do the "stop-the-car and-grab-one-for-my-bedroom" thing with barrels? They look quite a lot bigger than our cones.
Alexia, Occasionally, kids steal a few and use them to "decorate" some unsuspecting person's yard. Fortunately, a call to the company will bring folks to clean up the orange barrels if you are the victim. I've never heard of anyone stealing one for a real decoration, though.
Orange barrels are also familiar to me whenever I visit Michigan in the summer time. I even showed a picture that included some this summer. A necessary evil, I suppose.
I wouldn't be able to drive there: the otherworldly scenery would be way too distracting. I love these scenes, as they remind me of growing up in Montreal, where road construction was the national sport. Awesome, awesome set!

ReplyDeleteAlexia, I think our big car (and truck) drivers need something more substantial than cones to keep them from running over the construction people.
